About Simon Peter Greenhill
Born and raised in Halifax, West Yorkshire, I moved to London at 19 and eventually put down roots here in Surrey with my amazing wife, Chevaun, our three brilliant children — Joshua, Eliza and Darcey — and our two wonderfully chaotic Dalmatians, Bisco and Bongo.
My career has always revolved around people. As a professional singer, speaker and master of ceremonies, I’ve spent years using my voice to create connection — whether that’s guiding guests through an event, lifting a room with music, or bringing calm and comfort at meaningful moments. I’ve sung at countless weddings and funerals, and it has been a privilege every time to help families and couples mark life’s most important milestones.
When a close friend told me, “You’d make a fantastic celebrant,” something clicked. I trained with the International College of Professional Celebrants — and I can honestly say I’ve loved every moment. Being a celebrant allows me to combine everything I care about: people, storytelling, genuine connection, and creating ceremonies filled with warmth, meaning and personality.
Background
I’ve spent most of my life using my voice to connect with people. I trained as an actor and singer after earning a scholarship to Mountview, which led me to perform in West End shows, international concerts and at some of the world’s most iconic sporting arenas — from Wembley and Twickenham to Ascot, Abu Dhabi and Johannesburg.
Alongside performing, I built a career in live events and entertainment, bringing together talented musicians, creatives and industry professionals to produce unforgettable experiences. Whether on stage, hosting, or leading a room full of guests, I’ve always loved bringing people together, telling stories and creating moments that truly mean something.
And that’s exactly what led me towards celebrancy…
The Modern Celebrant
Becoming a celebrant has allowed me to bring together everything I’ve learned from a life spent performing, presenting and connecting with people. Whether on stage in the West End, singing in stadiums around the world or leading unforgettable moments at weddings and events, my career has always centred around emotion, storytelling and human connection.
As a modern celebrant, I approach every ceremony with creativity, warmth and genuine care. I believe that no two stories are the same, and your ceremony shouldn’t be either. My job is to listen, understand what truly matters to you, and craft a moment that feels personal, memorable and absolutely yours.
Today, I bring all of my experience—my voice, my performance background, my love of people and my passion for celebrating life—into every wedding, naming ceremony or farewell I’m privileged to lead.
